These six are the Reverend's choices for six blues artists to watch in 2010. Do you agree with these choices, or do you know of a young blues artist that we've overlooked? Who is your favorite young blues artist and why? Share Your Choices

Just 1 choice...impossible

Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shephard and Marc Broussard top 3 hands down

Charlie A'Court

There are a number of young artists from the East Coast but the one I like the most is Charlie. He is a very personable great guitarist as well as fantastic vocalist. He has a number of cds out, but his live performances are must see !

Debbie Davies

I love her timing and tones. Her recording are so to the point yet they that spot in the corner your heart where the blues lives

The Sad Sam Blues Jam

14 and 16 year old Sisters Sad and Sam have got it going on! They are joined my 17 year old Sarah on vocals and 17 year old Jake on drums. Sadie is the heart and soul with her smooth blues licks and hard driving melodies...whether it's a cover or an original, you can hear Sadie's original style in every measure. Sam is the rock! Be it bass or rhythm guitar, she is one of the most dependable players! Her jazz theory knowledge is through the roof and she plays piano, drums and clarinet as well. They are a force to be reckoned with and at the young age, who knows what lies ahead! "The blues...ain't nothing but a girl thang..."

David GoGo

Check out David Go Go. This young can play and sing like an old soul. See who he conjures up in your mind.

Scott Mckeon

I would definitely encourage blues/guitar fans to check out Scott Mckeon, an absolutely amazing guitarist, singer-songwriter. Recognised by some of the biggest names in the Blues scene. His debut album was massively blues orientated 'Can't take no more' and his most recent album 'Trouble' has branched into many other genres, a real talent. Please check him out and spread the word!

Robert Johnson's Soul

Well It seems that You missed one,A Texas Native. And his name is Robert Johnson. His bands name is Robert Johnson's Soul from Austin,Tx.You Should check him out.He may remind you of Someone.

The Blues Machine

I'm biased, it's my son's band! He is the oldest member at 15 and is one of the youngest endorsed guitarists in the country. Yes, they are blues/rock but their youth brings with it an aggression and danger that is similar to early Hendrix, Clapton or Gallagher and serves as a reminder that blues is not an 'old man's music', but often the voice of teenage angst.

Jake Haldenwang

Electrifying almost mesmerizing performances, unique stylings. His voice-unreal coming from someone so young- he is unlike any other.

What Kind Of Blues are you people talkin

All of these people are Blues-Rockers. Where are the down-home Real Blues artists at? I was expecting to see some on this list. Where is Stevie J at? Where is Reggie Sears at? Where is Andy Twyman at?? There are young artists who do the real thing and don't have nearly the hype of these Rockers. Please tell me, am I the only one who feels this way? Rob

I Concur

I concur with many of the suggestions made so far. I would like to add one not mentioned and that was the 1st place winner of this year's IBC. That is Grady Champion. I was introduced to him several years ago and frankly not the least bit surprised that he took the award. I expected it. They clearly saved the best of the finalists for last. Just as he couldn't be restrained on stage, I believe he won't be contained this year. I am looking for some big things this year from Grady Champion.

Look out for Joe!

After seeing Joe Bonamassa twice at the Notodden Blues Festival this year I am totally bonamazed! If you get a chance to see him live - GO! He is one of the greatest guitar players I have ever heard and lately he has turned into a very competent singer as well.

Try looking outside the box...

There's no doubt that the artists mentioned are all very fine (and I've featured Gina on my show in the past)... and - surprise, surprise - all American. Why not look a little further afield? Here in Britain we are blessed with some magnificent Blues artists - Oli Brown, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Dani Wilde, Virgil and the Accelerators to name just a few.. give them a try and see what you're missing out on by being so insular...
