Singer/guitarist "Magic" Sam Maghett is most famous for the Blues classic Sweet Home Chicago, even though it was written by Robert Johnson. This Chicago legend didn't live long enough to claim the superstardom eventually achieved by his peers . Ever since, his trademark sound has been a template for Chicago Blues bands. Magic Sam passed in 1969.
