Bluesin' On The High Seas!

Take a cruise with blues, blues-rock and R&B legends

The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise has announced the dates of the company's upcoming "Bluesin' On The High Seas!" cruises, along with the first of the two cruise's line-up of performers. The talent they'll be featuring on their October cruise includes some of the biggest names in the blues, R&B and blues-rock fields.

Bluesin' Pacific Cruise

The Bluesin' Pacific Cruise will take place from October 5th - 12th, 2008. Launching from San Diego, California the ship will hit Mazatlan, La Paz, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The cruise promises a "festival atmosphere," with autograph sessions, over 70 scheduled shows, and nightly jam sessions among the performers.

Among the talent confirmed for the Pacific Cruise are blues legends Etta James and Koko Taylor, along with the following performers:

  • New Orleans' favorite son Dr. John
  • Mexican-American rockers Los Lobos
  • Marcia Ball
  • Earl Thomas
  • Magic Slim & the Teardrops
  • Chris Thomas King
  • Honky-tonk comedian Rev. Billy C. Wirtz.
The cruise will also feature a stellar line-up of blues guitarists, including:
  • Elvin Bishop
  • Tommy Castro
  • Shane Dwight
  • Kenny Neal
  • David Jacobs-Strain
Special "unannounced" surprise guests will also be performing.

Bluesin' Caribbean Cruise

The Bluesin' Caribbean Cruise will occur from January 24th - 31st, 2009. Striking out from Fort Lauderdale, Florida the ship will land at Dominica Tortola and Samana in the Dominican Republic. Performers have not been announced as of yet for the Caribbean Cruise.
