Fresh off the success of the company's 2008 Pacific Ocean cruise, the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise has announced the dates of the company's upcoming January "Bluesin' On The High Seas!" Caribbean cruise, along with the cruise's line-up of blues, R&B and blues-rock performers.
Bluesin' 2009 Caribbean Cruise
The Bluesin' Caribbean cruise will take place from January 24th & 31st, 2009. Launching from Fort Lauderdale, Florida the ship will hit the Dominican Republic and Tortola before returning home. The week-long cruise promises a "festival atmosphere," with autograph sessions, over 70 scheduled shows, and nightly jam sessions among the performers.
Among the talent confirmed for the Pacific Cruise are blues legends Etta James and Taj Mahal, along with the following performers:
- Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival
- The Fabulous Thunderbirds
- Floyd Taylor
- James Hunter
- The Holmes Brothers
- Scrapomatic
- John Hammond
- The Homemade Jamz Band
For fans of electric-blues, the cruise will also feature a stellar line-up of blues guitarists, including:
- Tommy Castro
- Jimmy Thackery & the Drivers
- Ana Popovic
- Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson
- Larry McCray
Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi will also be performing individually. Special guests for the Caribbean cruise include EG Kight, Bob Margolin, and Debbie Davies; several "legendary" surprise guests will also be appearing.
Bluesin' 2009 Pacific Cruise
The Bluesin' Pacific Cruise will occur from October 17th & 24th, 2009. Striking out from San Diego, California the cruise will hit Mazatlan, La Paz, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Performers have not been announced as of yet for the Pacific Cruise.
