The awards were re-named this year in an effort to increase public awareness of the significance of the honors. There now will be no doubt the purpose of the process as Blues.org continues it's annual accolades.
Marcia Ball, Magic Slim, Hubert Sumlin, and Little Milton each received four nods while ten new artists appear this year. The late Little Milton, "Gatemouth" Brown and the still kickin' Hubert Sumlin would seem to be the sentimental favorites.
Two categories have been re-named to honor B.B. King and Pinetop Perkins.
