Voting in the 2012 Blues Blast Music Awards opened on July 1st, 2012 on the Blues Blast magazine website, and ran through August 31st, 2012. Voting was open to all Blues Blast subscribers, which is a great deal considering that they'll email the zine to you for free each week in return for your email address. Voters in the awards choose their favorite blues artists and albums from among eight different categories, and the winners will be announced at an upcoming ceremony.

Last year, over 6,500 blues fans in all 50 states and 75 countries voted online for the 2011 Blues Blast Music Awards, choosing favorites like Buddy Guy, Robin Rogers, and Pinetop Perkins, among others, as winners. We have the full list of 2011 winners available elsewhere on the site.

Blues Blast Music Award nominees are chosen by the magazine's staff and a board of music writers, managers, musicians, and other industry professionals. Through a partnership with public radio station WGLT-FM, a special web page has been set up so that you can listen to samples of music from this year's nominated artists.
