Vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, producer James Milton Campbell came from the Mississippi Delta to become one of the most accomplished Bluesman of his day. With stints at legendary Blues record labels Sun, Stax, Chess, and Maleco, his recording career was prolific, but not as popular as his contemporaries B.B. King and Bobby Blue Bland. He was a pioneer in adding lush arrangements with strings to the Blues which contributed to the birth of Soul music.
