C.J. Chenier, Step It Up!
With the recent passing of Boozoo Chavis and Beau Jocque, the title for "King of Zydeco" seems to be up for grabs. Though he might not have the current dance hall appeal of Rosie Ledet or Step Rideau, C.J. Chenier's Step It Up! continues to bring Zydeco music into the mainstream. His father earned the title "King of Zydeco" by bringing Zydeco to the world, C.J. continues this family tradition and deserves the revered title "KING of ZYDECO"!
