Dirty Linen
One of the most influential folk publications, DL covers a wide a range of musical styles from around the world. Known for in-depth features on major artists, scads of CD reviews (varying quality) and the comprehensiveness of its concert listings.

Fiddler Magazine
What else? - the magazine for fiddlers. Great website offers article excerpts from current issue, plus a full article from each of many back issues. A few pages of sheet music are also available.

Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine
Good on-line features include a full transcription of a song from the current issue. Each issue of the magazine comes with a CD. Featured players include all the top artists.

Folk On Tap
The Magazine for the Southern Counties Folk Federation (of Great Britain).

Folkwax
New weekly folk e-zine with news and links. Get it as a free e-mail (cool HTML version or straight text). Very good so far.

Guitar Sam...
Online e-zine publishes information on instruments plus guitar tips and interviews with artists.

iBluegrass
Along with magazine style features, this site acts as a bluegrass clearinghouse, linking to 100 artist/group pages and listing over 170 festivals around the country - just between May and Sept.! I believe my work here is done.

Performing Songwriter
This slick trade magazine's in-depth articles on popular stars give it general appeal, while columns on recording, voice, and gigging make it useful for pros.

Ambitious new online "sharezine" focuses on world music and roots (blues, etc.). Subscribers received four free CD's last year.

Sing Out!
This stalwart of the folk revolution has published traditional, topical and activist songs since the 50s, along with in depth articles and reviews. Site gives headlines, audio clips of the year's songs and a 47-year song index.

Sounding Strings
A quarterly for traditional Irish harp. Site has only subscription and advertising info. plus a short summary of the last several issues with cover.

Traditional Music Makers
London-based magazine.

Traditional MusicLine, The
A magazine (paper and ink only) dedicated to traditional music. You can subscribe or get ad info online here.
