Old Songs
Held the last full weekend of June in Altamont, NY, this is the premier festival in the Northeast U.S. for folk and traditional music and dance. 3 main concerts, 9 daytime workshop stages, camping, family-friendly, crafts and great music.

Philadelphia Folk Festival
Schwenksville, PA. August 27-29. One of the country's biggest festivals, Philly caps the festival season like a fireworks finale. This year:

River City Folk
A small traditional oriented festival in Omaha, NE.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival
A respected, serious festival, last week of June, first week of July in Wash. DC.

South Florida Folk Festival
FL Jan 13-14. Known for its songwriter contest.

Turtle Hill Folk Festival
Rochester, NY.

Upper Merion Concerts Under the Stars,
King of Prussia PA OK, so it's not a festival - but this outdoor summer series (May-Sept) feels like one. Always an excellent lineup of singersongwriters. In 2000: Steve Forbert, Cheryl Wheeler, Bill Miller, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky & more.

Washington Irish Festival
Memorial Day Weekend.

Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival
This festival occurs toward the end of April in Richardson, TX. It includes folk among other types of music.

Winfield/Walnut Valley Festival

World Music Festival Chicago '99
