Site offers a lot of music by various artists, including Natalie Macmasters and the Carter Family.

The list of lists! Indexes dozens of sites that have compiled lists of folk performers! An index of about 200 individual artist discographies is also at this site.

GigMasters
This virtual booking agency allows musicians to mount a page of booking information and promotional materials for free - but I, for one, haven't gotten any calls yet... All genres, lots of local acts and wedding bands.

iMusic
Attempts to create an online music community (and store) with chatrooms and bulletin boards for fans of the many listed artists, but few of the folk music lists seem used. Some excellent artist bios. Links to UBL.

Singer-songwriter Directory
This one site lists hundreds of singer-songwriters in every genre. Follow the above link to Folk and find approximately 500 entries, which makes indiscriminate but interesting browsing.

Mother of all indie artist collectives/stores. Genre list (above) includes folk, acoustic and bluegrass). Artists (1000s) sign up (free) and provide info. (or don't). Links to AMG.

Another collectively-created on-line resource where musicians in all genres can list their homepages and favorite fansites. Search on "folk" brings up an interesting and eclectic listing.
