Jeff Healey's House On Fire

By February 20, 2013

Follow me on:

Jeff Healey's House On FireThe late blues-rock guitarist Jeff Healey evidently had a lot of music tucked away in the vaults for a "rainy day," and thankfully his estate has been dribbling it out on a regular basis to a dedicated, patient group of fans since his tragic death in March 2008. A one-of-a-kind talent who was equally conversant in blues music, rock 'n' roll, pop, and traditional jazz, Healey could easily and enchantingly play in any style, the blind guitarist holding his instrument flat in his lap. A number of archival recordings have been released since 2008, documenting Healey's amazing career, including 2011's Full Circle: The Live Anthology, an enormous three-CD and one DVD set.

On February 26, 2013 Eagle Records will release Healey's House On Fire, a eleven-track collection of previously-unreleased studio rarities that were recorded between 1992 and 1998, including songs originally taped during the sessions for the Feel This and Cover To Cover albums. House On Fire includes some choice covers like Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight" and Bruce Springsteen's raucous "Adam Raised A Cain" as well as original tunes like the title track and the band instrumental "Bish Bang Boof."

House On Fire tracklist:

1. House On Fire
2. Who's Been Sleepin' In My Bed
3. You Go Your Way, I'll Go Mine
4. All The Way
5. We've Got Tonight
6. Bish Bang Boof
7. Too Late Now
8. Face Up
9. Adam Raised A Cain
10. Daze Of The Night
11. Joined At The Heart

Hey Keith,

I just wanted to pass on some info…

I’m not sure if you were told this by someone, or it was just a mistaken assumption, but the Estate of Jeff Healey has nothing to do with *any* Jeff Healey releases on Eagle Rock. We were not consulted nor asked to participate in any way. We only just found out about the release a few weeks ago ourselves. Just FYI. No harm no foul…

As a side note however, in-akustik in Germany is set to release “Jeff Healey – As The Years Go Passing By: Live in Germany 1989-1995-2000″. This is the *first release of archive material that is fully endorsed and approved by the Jeff Healey Estate*. It also boasts contributions from most of the musicians involved in these shows.
The level of participation that we’ve enjoyed on this release has been fantastic and I have to say that we are *absolutely* thrilled with the fantastic job in-akustik is doing.

Please check out the great trailer they have put together for it…

Anyway, sorry for the sidebar, but we are very excited about this project. The European release is set for Feb. 22nd, 2013 and the North American release is April 9th. Here’s the link for the European press release…

Here’s the Amazon links so you can get a better look at the set…
