Our friends at The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Caribbean Cruise recently announced the line-up for their 21st cruise, and the roster offers an awesome marquee of blues, R&B, blues-rock, roots-rock, and soul talent ready to entertain a boatload of enthusiastic music fans. Pre-booking of the cruise has already started, so make your plans soon because these ocean-going floating house parties have a way of selling out quickly!
Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise #21 will take place from October 18th through the 25th, 2013; departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and stopping in Key West for the first weekend of the "Fantasy Festival." From there the ship sails down to New Orleans for a day, then it travels to Progresso, Mexico, the port closest to the Mayan ruins. The Reverend has the full rundown on the performers confirmed for the October 2013 cruise, which features headliners like Irma Thomas, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and the Royal Southern Brotherhood. See who else will be "cruisin' the blues" come October!
Here on About.com Blues, the Reverend has posted his list of New Blues CDs for January, and while the numbers may be slim, the quality is top notch. The Rev's review of Buddy Guy's Live At Legends CD has been turning heads as well, the album well worth your time and money, which is more than we can say about Tommy Bolin's Great Gypsy Soul, a posthumous Franken-recording that you shouldn't waste a dime on. Check out our Tommy Bolin profile to find a more complimentary assessment of the blues-rock guitarist's legacy.
