The Reverend has often sang the praises of the Homemade Jamz Blues Band in this space and elsewhere, writing in Blues Revue magazine in 2011 about the band's then-current album, "considering just how damn good the Homemade Jamz Blues Band is on The Game, imagine how great the band is going to be another couple albums down the road. The Perry teens are bringing youthful enthusiasm and a fresh vision to blues traditionalism, and The Game represents another big step forward for this young Mississippi band."
You readers can help the Perry siblings take this all-important next "step forward" in their career by donating to the band's Kickstarter campaign. The Homemade Jamz Blues Band recently launched the fundraiser to help finance the recording and production of what would be their fourth album, and with but a week left to go, they've only raised about 33% of their $10k goal. As with most Kickstarter projects, donors can get involved at certain levels according to the amount they give, and receive rewards for their support. For instance, a $10 donation will get you a digital download of the album when it's done, while a $20 pledge will net you the digital download and a signed copy of the album.
The perks only go up from there, and five adventuresome souls have already pledged $300 apiece for an autographed cigar box guitar handmade by Homemade Jamz frontman Ryan Perry. There's only a week left for the band to hit its goal, so check out the Homemade Jamz Blues Band's Kickstarter page, watch the band's cool video (and get a taste of their houserockin' music), and donate!
