Black County Communion's AfterglowI've said it before, I'll say it again...guitarist Joe Bonamassa is possibly the hardest-working guy in the blues. This year alone Joey Bones has released a best-selling solo album, Driving Towards The Daylight; a Black County Communion live set; and a live solo DVD and CD, Beacon Theatre - Live From New York. Bonamassa will close out the year with his friends in the classic rock supergroup Black County Communion as the band readies the release of its third studio album.

On October 30th, 2012 Black County Communion will release Afterglow on Bonamassa's indie J&R Adventures label. While the band's sound is definitely rock 'n' roll with a 1970s edge, more than a little blues feeling seeps in around the corners. Fronted by former Trapeze and Deep Purple singer and bass player Glenn Hughes and featuring guitarist Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (son of Led Zeppelin's John Bonham), and keyboardist Derek Sherinian, Black County Communion has found ready acceptance from rock and blues fans alike. With Afterglow, the band further refines and expands its already hard-hitting sound.

"It's a deeper album, musically, than our first two albums, but it does not step away from the genre we're in," say Hughes, who wrote most of the new album's songs, in a press release announcing the album. "I wanted this album to have more acoustic moments than the previous two. I wanted to hear more of Derek and I wanted an angelic side to the vocals as well as the more aggressive one, like on the songs 'Crawl' and 'Midnight Sun'. Above all, I wanted more drama." Like the band's previous work, Hughes - dubbed by many as the "Voice of Rock" - handles most of the vocal duties, while Bonamassa sits back and bangs away at his fretboard.

"Confessor," the album's first single, has been released and is available for free download from the band's website. A special six-episode web TV series for Afterglow can be viewed on the band's YouTube channel. If you enjoy Joe Bonamassa's six-string talents, you may get into Black County Communion.

Great news for us JB / BCR fans! Joe is certainly the hardest-working musician around these days, not to mention one of the most talented guitarists/vocalists in music today. I love rock, I love blues, I love rockin’ blues. It never ceases to amaze me that JB hasn’t been more widely recognized and accepted. I’m sure that the new CD will be worth a listen!

Thanks for the information and the heads-up!
