Experience Hendrix, the all-star concert tour that celebrates the life and music of blues-rock guitar great Jimi Hendrix, will return in March 2010 for its fourth monster tour. This year's Experience Hendrix tour will feature some of the most respected names in rock and blues music, including Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford, Doyle Bramhall II, Ernie Isley, Living Colour, Double Trouble's Chris Layton, and Band of Gypsies bassist Billy Cox.
The 2010 Experience Hendrix Tour will hit 17 cities across the U.S. during March, and selected dates will also feature guest stars Sacred Steel, featuring Robert Randolph; blues guitarist Susan Tedeschi; and David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos.
In a press release for the tour Billy Cox, Hendrix's old Army buddy and long-time band member said, "it's a thrill for me to play Jimi's music for audiences now as it was in the 1960s. The Experience Hendrix tours have shown how timeless this music really is." Guitarist Joe Satriani remarked, "I finally get to pay tribute to my hero the right way, on stage with an amazing, once in a lifetime, line up of musicians!"
This even promises to be a real scorcher, so be sure to get to one of these shows whether you have to walk, crawl, or hitch a ride to a venue within 100 miles of your home!
