Derek Trucks Band On The Road, Worldwide!

Blues-rock guitarist Derek Trucks is one of the hardest-working cats in show biz. Earlier this year, he was part of the Allman Brothers Band's 15-night 40th anniversary celebration at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. With his wife, the talented blues guitarist Susan Tedeschi, the pair tour as the Soul Stew Revival, combining their bands for a blow-out musical revue. And the Derek Trucks Band has been busy on the road supporting their critically-acclaimed album Already Free, which was released earlier this year. Altogether, Trucks has estimated in interviews that he spends around 300 nights a year on the road.

Still, Trucks and his road warriors soldier on, and after a whirlwind blues-rock romance of Japan that will see the band performing five certain-to-be-sold-out dates in a like number of nights, they'll return for a brief respite from their heavy tour schedule. Never fret, blues fans, 'cause the Derek Trucks Band can never stay off the road that long, and at the end of October they'll be hitting the pavement one more time, scheduling a little more than a dozen dates through the end of 2009. If you're lucky enough to live near one of the below-listed show dates, be sure to do just about whatever it takes to catch the Derek Trucks Band in concert. You'll be rewarded many times over by one of the best performers in contemporary blues music.
