Marcia Ball Hits The Road

Blues singer Marcia Ball has enjoyed a successful year in 2008. Her Alligator Records CD Peace, Love & BBQ has garnered some of the best reviews of the singer's career, resulting in a Grammy™ Award nomination for "Best Contemporary Blues Album." In recognition of Ball's considerable instrumental skills, she has also received a Blues Music Award nomination for the coveted "Pinetop Perkins Piano Player" award, named in honor of the great blues pianist.

Ball isn't sitting still, resting on her laurels and waiting for the awards to come rolling in, nosirree! The talented blues artist has live shows scheduled half-way into the new year, with additional dates almost a certainty. Marcia Ball on stage is the closest thing that blues music has to the piano-pounding frenzy of Jerry Lee Lewis, and it's your loss if you miss one of her rowdy live performances when she blows through your town.
