Ronnie Earl Hope Radio Sessions DVD Preview
Blues guitarist Ronnie Earl has earned a reputation as an inspired guitarist who masterfully blends blues licks with fluid jazzy improvisation and touches of rock and soul. Over the course of Earl's 25-year-plus career, he has released over 20 albums, but none so acclaimed as 2007's Hope Radio, recorded with his long-time band the Broadcasters.
Stony Plain Records has announced an October 14, 2008 release date for Earl's Hope Radio Sessions DVD, which features Earl and the Broadcasters performing live at the Wellspring Sound studios in Acton, Massachusetts. The DVD also includes alternate versions of performances from Earl's landmark Hope Radio audio CD, plus two rare solo acoustic guitar selections and an eleven-minute interview with the legendary (and somewhat reclusive) blues guitarist.
Earl has twice won a coveted W.C. Handy Blues Award for "Guitar Player of the Year" and has long been considered one of the premier instrumentalists of the blues. A former member of the acclaimed Roomful of Blues band, Earl has played alongside such blues music titans as Muddy Waters, Big Joe Turner, Otis Rush, and Duke Robillard. With Hope Radio Sessions, Earl's first DVD release, fans can get a look behind the scenes and witness the phenomenal skills of this talented blues guitarist with their own eyes and ears.
