Remembering Little Arthur Duncan

Mark your calendars for one week from today, Friday September 19th, 2008. If you're anywhere within a hundred miles of Chicago, you should hitch up the horses and head down the highway towards the big city, 'cause this event promises to be a real barn-burner!

A memorial show for blues artist Little Arthur Duncan will be held Friday night at Rosa's Blues Lounge in Chicago, with the festivities beginning at 9:30 PM. The list of Chicago blues artists that will be paying honor to the beloved musician includes Zora Young, Billy Boy Arnold, and Eddie Taylor, Jr., backed by Duncan's band the Backscratchers. Blues guitarists Phil Guy and Pete Allen will also be remembered during the memorial show, both major contributors to the Chicago blues sound over the past couple of decades who also recently passed.
