Blues music legend Buddy GuyOn July 22, 2008 blues music legend Buddy Guy will be releasing Skin Deep, his first album in three years, and the first record of his lengthy and prolific career to feature entirely new material. Several of Guy's good friends lend their talents to Skin Deep, including Eric Clapton, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and Robert Randolph. Perhaps passing the blues music torch onto the next generation, the album also features the talents of nine-year-old six-string sensation Quinn Sullivan, who recently appeared on the Oprah show.

Elaborating on his inspiration for the album title and song Skin Deep, Guy touches upon a powerful series of personal memories and observations on the ways in which "underneath" we're all the same. "I used to play with this boy, ride horses, down close to where I was born," he says in a press release for the album. "Then when we were 13, his parents made us stop. They used to say you had black blood or white blood, but we'd get a flashlight and hold it up to our skin and we'd just see red blood. That's what I mean by 'Skin Deep'."

Featuring Guy's energetic fretwork and unique songwriting voice, Skin Deep promises to be one of the most acclaimed blues music albums of the year and another milestone in the storied life and career of one of the Chicago blues' most beloved artists.
