On Sunday, July 20th in Chicago's Millennium Park, blues music legend Buddy Guy will receive the very first "Great Performer of Illinois" award for the blues guitarist's outstanding contributions to popular music and American culture. Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt A Whirl Band with Lou Ann Barton will headline a special Buddy Guy tribute concert on Sunday, the third and final night of the third annual Great Performers of Illinois Festival. A five-time Grammy™ Award winner and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Guy has been a world ambassador for the Chicago blues sound for five decades.

The Great Performers of Illinois Festival is presented by the Illinois Arts Council, the Chicago Office of Tourism, and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. This year's event features over 50 performers from across the state, ranging from rock and blues music to Latin, folk, and pop. Best of all is the festival's price: free! Check with the festival website for more details on this exciting event.
