(New Orleans, LA) The Barbarin family has donated their family tomb, in the old St. Louis No. 1 Cemetery on Basin Street, to beloved departed local musicians. An article in the Times-Picayune announces this extraordinary act of love towards the artists that put smiles on everyone's faces.

John-I saw this old article in my e-mail(I’m so bad about reading & not deleting-this has been in my box for over a year!~)but I was wondering how did this cemetary & the spaces the family gave, fare after Katrina? I was in new Orleans for a couple of months after katrina, during Rita, with HSUS helping to rescue & feed all the animals left behind. I’d been in NO as a kid to visit family but this was the first visit as an adult. I fell in love with the city all over again & if there was a way, I’d move there & help the city get back. I felt this incredible spiritual connection-the music, the art, the lifestyle, food, the people. But, enough of that. Just wondering what happened after Katrina, if you knew. Thanks,
